Flag Day - Sunday June 14

Post by Luke »

Flag Day is Sunday June 14. In 1916, President Woodrow Wilson issued a proclamation that officially established June 14 as Flag Day. It wasn't until 1949, that National Flag Day was established by an Act of Congress.

What could be more American than Flag Day, and Cracker Jack!?!

Is it any coincidence that our CJCA annual convention starts the day after Flag Day?
Is it any coincidence that Flag Day is on the 14th, and this is our 14th Convention?

Post your Cracker Jack flags, and let's celebrate! (Even if it overlaps with prizes you've posted on the 4th of July thread)

I was double checking my Cracker Jack prizes to see if I had any with a flag theme. Absolutely nothing.

I then searched through a bag of misc coins, wooden nickles, etc. (non-CJ), to see if any had buffaloes for Buffalo Mike. I didn't find anything for him either. However, I did find a canceled Cracker Jack Presidential Coin of Woodrow Wilson. Imagine my surprise, as I had no idea that I had any of these coins, let alone one of Woody.

It's not a flag, but since Woodrow Wilson issued a proclamation that officially established June 14 as Flag Day, I present to you...

Alex and Luke, I have enjoyed your posts for "Flag Day." I had hoped to have time to make some contributions to this thread but am sorry to say I just haven't found the time. Now, don't you two have something else to do, like pack your bags, maybe :?:
